It was snowing lightly as I
left that shed. I couldn't breathe! I couldn't Think how to save
my Sister.
I kept running down the lane,
asking the Kitty Angels for help. "Please help Sister,"
I cried. "Please help me."
Finally I reached flowing water,
some large creek or stream. Our Mother had told us of the dangers
of these. Oh what could I do now?
Instead of wailing, I closed my eyes and thought
of Sister. I wondered if she was truly gone. Was she being carried by flights
of Angels? Did she play in endless fields of green, or among the stars?

I laid down in the snow. Only
a miracle could save me, and it was too late for saving Sister.
A noise? I cocked one ear back.
Yes! Something was heading my way, panting and making happy sounds.
I looked around and saw the Largest Dog in the world!
"Say little cat, what are
you doing out here in the cold?" he asked.
"Waiting to die, and join
my Sister," I replied.
"Walp, that's not a happy
thing to do, especially now that my people are just across the
creek. Come with me!"
I looked at this Large Dog and
wondered why Sister and I could not have met him sooner.
"No, I'll just sit here.
I can't stand the idea of living while my dear Sister lies so
still in the manger of that old shed," I told him.
"Dumb, dumb, dumb. And
humans think sheep are dumb. You are thinking like a sheep. Follow
me home," said the Dog, as he sat down and looked at me.
"No, no thank you Mr. Dog.
I'll go back to Sister and wait for the end. I can't cross the
creek anyway."
"Sheep thinking! Giving
up! I can get you across the creek," and with that the Large
Dog scooped me up into his mouth and stepped into the water.
